Who We Are

The Antioch Center is an initiative of Central Seminary that strengthens congregations by investing in the people who lead them. We equip pastors and lay leaders with practical knowledge, resources, and peer support for faithful, sustainable ministry in a changing world.

Located near Antioch Road and 110th Street in Overland Park, the Center draws its name and inspiration from Antioch, the church’s first great crossroads, where diverse believers were formed and sent into the world. Inspired by that legacy, we help leaders and congregations flourish in their communities today. 

What We Do

Through primarily online learning sessions, certificate programs, coaching, peer learning communities, and customized resources, we provide accessible opportunities for ministry development and leadership growth.

We are especially committed to serving small, rural, and multilingual congregations across the Midwest with resources tailored to their unique contexts. The Center also offers a certificate program leading to American Baptist ordination.

We provide access to coaching and consultants who are addressing many of the challenges congregations face today, including financial sustainability, stewardship of aging facilities, mental health and well-being, accessibility and inclusion, and innovative approaches to engaging children, youth, and young adults.
