Technology and Faithful Innovation in Ministry | Beginning September 29, 2026 for 5 weeks on Tuesdays, at 7PM.
Technology is reshaping every aspect of our lives, including how we worship, communicate, disciple, and serve our communities. While new technologies present remarkable opportunities for ministry, they also raise important theological, ethical, and pastoral questions. How can the Church embrace innovation without compromising its mission? How can technology strengthen authentic relationships rather than replace them? How do we remain faithful to the Gospel while engaging an increasingly digital world? This five-week certificate course is designed to help pastors, church leaders, and ministry practitioners thoughtfully and faithfully integrate technology into their ministries. Participants will explore the theology of technology, examine the use of artificial intelligence in pastoral ministry, learn effective strategies for digital stewardship and generosity, develop practical approaches to email communication and outreach, and discover how social media can become a tool for building relationships and engaging their neighborhoods. Throughout the course, we will seek to cultivate a theological framework that enables leaders to use technology not as an end in itself, but as a faithful instrument for making disciples, strengthening communities, and participating in God's mission in the world.

His academic background is in biblical studies, an undergrad major at Mary Hardin-Baylor (Belton, TX) was in Theology and Philosophy with minors in biblical studies and biblical languages. During seminary at Mercer University’s McAfee School of Theology (Atlanta, GA), my concentration was in academic research and my thesis concerned the role of nature in the Gospel of John. My academic pursuits took me to doctoral studies in Religious Studies at Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI) focused on Judaism & Christianity in Antiquity. Learning how to write and analyze texts has countless applications in everyday life beyond studying antiquity.
Meredith McNabb- Generosity, Stewardship and Technology
Meredith McNabb is the Associate Director for Education at Lake Institute on Faith & Giving, part of Indiana University’s Lilly Family School of Philanthropy. In this role, she provides core leadership for the Executive Certificate in Religious Fundraising and the Cultivating Generous Congregations courses and other educational programming nationwide.Meredith is an attorney and spiritual director and an ordained clergy member in the United Methodist Church. She served previously as the Director of the Center for Clergy Excellence in Virginia, overseeing formation, continuing education, and accountability for 1600 Virginia United Methodist clergy, as well as more recently serving as an Associate District Superintendent in Indiana, resourcing and supervising bivocational clergy across both rural and urban contexts.She is a graduate of the University of Virginia, W&L School of Law, and Emory University’s Candler School of Theology. She and her spouse make their home in Cincinnati, Ohio.
