Who We Are
We are dedicated to strengthening congregations and communities by equipping them with the tools and knowledge they will need for faithful, sustainable ministry in a changing world.
The Center draws its name and purpose from the biblical city of Antioch—the church’s first great crossroads—where diverse believers were formed and sent into the world.
What We Do
The Antioch Center at Central Seminary equips lay leaders and pastors with the resources, training, and support they need to strengthen their congregations. We provide practical, accessible learning opportunities — including webinars, certificate programs, customized resources, peer connections, and coaching.
We offer customized resources tailored especially for
small, rural, and multilingual congregations across the Midwest. A new certificate leading to American Baptist ordination is also available.
The Center also provides expert coaching and guidance for lay leaders and
clergy addressing critical issues facing congregations today, including church
finances, stewardship of aging facilities, mental health concerns,
accessibility and inclusion, and innovative approaches to engaging youth and
young adults.
